In 2025, the International Day of Zero Waste falls on Sunday, March 30. Established by the United Nations General Assembly in December 2022, this day highlights the importance of clean manufacturing, circular practices, and sustainable production. It aims to promote zero-waste initiatives across the globe. The observance encourages individuals, communities, and organizations to take part in activities that raise awareness about waste reduction and environmental responsibility.

How Luxen Minimises Waste in Solar Manufacturing
The Clean Production Audit I is a premier certification in China, recognizing companies for advanced clean production and environmental efficiency. It is part of China’s Clean Production Promotion Law, which mandates audits for high-energy and high-emission industries. Endorsed by environmental authorities, this standard is a benchmark for clean manufacturing.
By meeting this standard, Luxen demonstrates compliance with global sustainability expectations. We actively reduce emissions, lower energy consumption, and minimize waste generation through high-efficiency production practices.
Circular practices
Luxen integrates recycled materials into its products and continuously enhances recyclability. Due to the technical nature of solar modules, our products achieve a near-optimal recyclability rate, with most materials being reusable.
To advance circularity in the solar sector, Luxen joined the CPIA Solar Recycling Working Group. We collaborate with industry partners to drive innovation in solar panel recycling.
Traceability
Our data-driven approach ensures sustainable, environmentally friendly manufacturing. We maintain full process control and resource efficiency through real-time monitoring.
Luxen uses a cloud-based Manufacturing Execution System to track every step of solar module production—from raw materials to finished products. Paperless data analysis helps us improve yield, stability, and efficiency while reducing resource use and environmental impact.
Control of Restricted Hazardous Substances
LUXEN enforces strict hazardous substance controls in raw material procurement and production. It maintains a hazardous substances management system, requiring suppliers to sign a “No Hazardous Substances Guarantee” and submit testing reports. Key suppliers must provide third-party RoHS and REACH compliance reports. The company also conducts rigorous incoming inspections to ensure compliance with EU and China’s hazardous substance regulations.
Factory Solar Power System
Luxen’s factory solar power system generates on-site electricity, reducing reliance on grid energy and lowering emissions. This supports our alignment with ISO 50001 and clean production goals
We’ve also implemented solar-powered charging stations for employees’ electric vehicles and motorcycles. In addition, we use electric forklifts and CO₂-friendly rail transport whenever possible to further reduce our carbon footprint.
Eco-Friendly Manufacturing & Sustainable Packaging
Our 2023 Green Factory certificate recognizes our commitment to low-waste, high-efficiency production.
The Nantong Demonstration Intelligent Workshop designation reflects our investment in automation, AI, and real-time monitoring to improve quality and minimize resource waste. This is further validated by our Green Factory recognition.
Luxen treats cutting and welding waste before emission, significantly reducing dust and fumes. We also use reusable packaging, reduce single-use materials, and minimize excess waste. As a result, we’ve significantly cut cardboard waste without compromising product safety.
Water Conservation & Responsible Wastewater Treatment
We separate rainwater and sewage to ensure responsible treatment and discharge. Cooling wastewater and pre-treated domestic sewage meet Level A discharge standards before being released into the Yangtze River. Regular water balance testing helps us detect and fix leaks, improving overall water efficiency.
Zero Waste: A Commitment to a Greener Future
Luxen’s zero-waste initiatives align with China’s carbon neutrality targets and global sustainability goals. Through strategic waste reduction, resource optimisation, and clean manufacturing, we are building a more sustainable future for solar production.
